ABOUT MY PRACTICE
I am a licensed psychologist with over twenty-five years of counseling experience working in college counseling centers, family sexual abuse treatment centers, sexual assault centers, community mental health centers , youth mental health centers. and private practice. I currently have a full-time private practice in St. Louis Park, Minnesota working with teens and adults on issues such as, coping with life stress; depression/anxiety; self-esteem; and chronic mental health issues.
The therapy process is personal in nature therefore,  I believe that it is very important for anyone who is seeking therapy that they find the right therapist for them.
In my practice I rely on several theoretical approaches such as, interpersonal psychology, psychodynamics, cognitive-behavioral, family of origin, and understanding systems. My eclectic approach develops a comprehensive and personal approach to address the clients' issues.  My premise is that how we feel, think, and act is because of genetics, upbringing, and life experiences.
My approach is collaborative, which means that I work with the client to help them gain self-understanding in order for them to make the positive changes in their life which they are seeking.
My style of psychotherapy is active, engaging, and warm. I value a working alliance with a client to discover their feelings, thoughts, motivations, needs, and behaviors.  I listen, ask questions, and give feedback in a respectful and honest manner.
